Harvest Noir

Ottawa’s secret picnic feast and black tie dance party Harvest Noir is taking place on October 15 at 16h. Harvest Noir is an elegant “dress your best in black” picnic and dance party that will commemorate the autumn harvest in one of the region’s very finest venues (a secret to attendees until the last minute!).

Harvest Noir emphasizes locally-harvested seasonal fresh food at the table, and complements the dinner elegance with a fabulous DJ, live dance music, and surprises and circus performers sprinkled throughout the evening.

Following the trend from Paris, Lyon, Amsterdam, Munich, Zurich, Berlin, New York City and Montréal, now Ottawa will have its first chic picnic! Join us in inaugurating a new remarkable tradition that celebrates fine local food, the epicurean bounty of autumn harvest, participatory art, and the pleasure of dining and dancing with old friends and new friends.

Je t’aime, moi non plus

Today, Youth League & the Spies member Tracie and I entered the Victoire re-grand opening party together. The result? Well, not as many pictures as we anticipated but we mostly just wanted to show the crowd and some shots of the store. But, the two guys we got below were a gem. They just looked so, let me quote Biggy, “I stay dressed to impress, spark these bitches interest”. I just fell in love with the ensemble of the guy on the right, too bad we didn’t get their names.

Unfortunately, we did not stick around for the party at la petite mort gallery but we did stick around for the delightful deserts, including off the hook caramel apple. Let’s just say, this was so delicious, my red lipstick was all over my chin…like a child. Check out www.youthleagueandthespies.blogspot.com for more pics!

Don’t forget to visit the store now located at 246 Dalhousie street, just two stores away from the old place. It looks great and they have a tiny men’s section now! Also, don’t forget to check out their website for more details on designers, sales and more!

Victoire Grand Opening Party!

Don’t miss this!

For Immediate Release

Size matters  – The girls of Victoire expand into a new, larger space!

Ottawa: February 27th, 2008 – Victoire, the boutique for “rebel girls with good manners” has moved into a larger space allowing the boutique to finally offer more of what it does best:  clothing with both style and substance in the right measure.  Victoire will also be adding shoes and men’s clothing into their repertoire. To celebrate their growth, Victoire is throwing both a shopping party and dance party! Mark your calendar for Saturday March 15th, 2008 –  it’s an all-night affair.

Heralded as one of the “top 10 cool shops to buy a dress” in Canada by the Ottawa Citizen, owners Regine Paquette and Katie Frappier have now set their sights on being bigger and better for the fashion conscious set of Ottawa. Moving to the larger space on the corner of Dalhousie and St-Patrick allows the ladies to not only expand into the new terrain of men’s wear, but to also offer more of what has made Victoire a gem. Victoire’s innovative Canadian designers, eco-friendly brands and select American lines will continue to find a home in any stylish citizen’s closet. You can count on more lovely jewelry, dresses and bags, as well as shoes for the ladies!  Victoire makes a liar out of anyone who dares say Ottawa is lacking in hip shopping destinations.

“In the relatively short time we’ve been open, we’ve had so many positive reactions from our female customers, telling us how Victoire has found a place in their closets. In the same time, we’ve had men lament the fact that they couldn’t get something for themselves at Victoire. We’re excited to now be able to offer the same distinctive eye for design to all the men of Ottawa, as well as offering more of what our current female customers have come to love” says Regine Paquette.

To celebrate Victoire’s new space, the ladies have decided to partner up with fashionable man-about-town Guy Berube of La Petite Mort for their big bash by having a dance party in his gallery space following the shopping party at Victoire. Get some new duds, then put them to use on the dance floor!

Victoire’s grand re-opening in its new space is March 15th, 2008. Come join us for candy apples, cotton candy, drinks and shopping discounts from 6:00 – 8:30 p.m., and then from 8:30 – on at La Petite Mort. Victoire is located at 246 Dalhousie St., and La Petite Mort is located at 306 Cumberland St.
