Ladyfest Ottawa 2008 – by women, for everyone

OTTAWA, ON – September 10, 2008 – Ladyfest Ottawa 2008 is gearing up for a smokin’ hot festival. Running the weekend of September 19th -21st , this year’s musical line-up features a number of high-profile performers from Canada and the U.S, including Brooklyn’s Northern State, Montreal’s Rae Spoon and Vancouver’s E.S.L.

Our workshops are just as varied and spectacular as the music and include skill-sharing on printmaking, do-it-yourself sex toys, breakdancing and food preservation. These women-led workshops will be an opportunity for a number of the talented and knowledgeable women in our community to step forward and share what they know.

Now becoming a proud Ladyfest tradition, we will also be presenting our Rock Camp for Girls again this year. We’re happy to announce that this workshop has expanded from one day to two, giving girls 13-17 the opportunity to rock out together all weekend on drums, guitar and bass under the mentorship of local women musicians.
